The Sustainability Toolkit: A framework engaging employees in CSR

By Bhavani Prakash

The Sustainability Tookit Cover CompHow do Singapore based organisations engage their employees around CSR and what can we learn from their experiences? This is the question that led Green Collar Asia, with support from the National Environment Agency, to interview 11 organisations to throw the light on what’s working and where the challenges are, for others to learn from. These are Banyan Tree Global Foundations Ltd, City Development Pte Ltd, Haworth, IKANO Retail Asia Pte Ltd, Origin Exterminators Pte Ltd, RICOH Asia Pacific Pte Limited, Siloso Beach Resort, Standard Chartered Bank, YTL Power Seraya Pte Limited and National University of Singapore.

Though focused on Singapore based companies, ‘The Sustainability Toolkit: A framework engaging employees in CSR‘ is meant to be handy for academicians, researchers, CSR practitioners, executives, managers and the general public anywhere in the world, and for organisations in any stage of their CSR journey.  (The 42 page toolkit can be downloaded from the form at the bottom of this page)

The toolkit provides ideas to enable organisations to make their workplaces and operations more environmentally and socially responsible, particularly with reference to how employees can engage in the process.

Here’s a discussion around the toolkit on Radio 938 Live on ‘The Green Agenda’ with Howie Lim and Andre Ahchak on 22nd April 2015 for Earth Day.
